From the beginning.... The Metroid Series

METROID STORYLINE

In cosmic year 20X5, the Galactic Federation discovered a new life form, indigenous to the planet SR388. It's name was a Metroid. A few years later, gifted and talented bounty hunter Samus Aran was dispatched to planet Zebes, main base of the Space Pirates. They were planning on using the Metroids horrifying and extremely intriguing powers as a weapon. She cut through their forces, gaining new abilities and weapons along the way. She supposedly destroyed the leader of the Space Pirates, Mother Brain. She then escaped. She discovered that there had been ships in orbit of Zebes while she fought on Zebes. She tracked one of these to an orbit of a planet called Tallon IV. She had tracked a distress signal coming from that derilect space vessel. She discovered that there were experiments that had been taking place there. She destroyed the remaining Parasite Queen in the reactor core of the vessel, sending the ship to its doom. She escaped in time, but on her way out she had quite a tragic accident. She was caught in an explosion on her way out that caused everything in her suit to malfunction except for her Power Beam. She also lost her Varia Suit. She also discovered that Ridley had survived, transformed into a new Ridley called Meta Ridley. It escaped too. When she made it out, she gave chase to Meta Ridley. Tracking was lost, and she was forced to land on Tallon IV, where Meta Ridley was suspected to be. She made her way through Tallon IV, recovering her lost abilities and then some. She supposedly destroyed Meta Ridley, and discovered that the horrendous experiments the Space Pirates had been conducting were done with a dangerous mutagen compound known as Phazon, which came from a humongous asteroid that had impacted Tallon IV about 20 years before Samus's arrival. The Space Pirates had tracked it there, and were mutating many organisms from Tallon IV, themselves, and even (*GASP*) Metroids. She destroyed Metroid Prime in the Phazon Core, and escaped. Some time later, she was sent to SR388 to exterminate the remaining Metroids, after an entire Federation platoon was destroyed in an earlier attempt. At the end of her long journey there, she saw a Metroid hatch from its egg, and since it saw Samus first, Samus became its mother figure. Samus took this last remaining Metroid to the Galactic Federation for research. They discovered many new ways to use the Metroids energy-absorbing powers for good. Just when things were going good, something bad happened. What goes up, must come down. Ridley came back, and stole the Metroid, and took it back to Zebes. She made her way through, and in the final battle with the Mother Brain, when Samus was on the brink of death, the Metroid gave its life for Samus to live. She killed Mother Brain, but the universe lost the chance to use Metroids for the power of good. About 10 years later, the Galactic Federation detected a rapidly increasing threat on SR388. They would learn that it was an organism that was the Metroid's main prey, so without the Metroids, it's population increased rapidly. Samus and a group of other GF personnel were sent to investigate. There, she encountered a parasitic organism called X. (The aforementioned prey of the Metroids) It attacked her, infesting her central nervous system. She thought nothing of it, until disaster struck. When she was flying parallel with the main ship, heading to the next investigation point on SR388, she lost conscioussness, and drifted from the ship, sending the ship into an asteroid belt. The escaped pod jettissoned her from the ship, and was recovered on the main ship. Many parts of her suit had to be sugically removed, but the X had already spread throughout many parts of her body. Since most of her suit was tied in so close to her central nervous system, that it could not be removed while she was unconscious. She was given a 0.873% prognosis for survival. But then, miraculously, someone proposed a cure. They had managed to keep a cell culture from the last Metroid. Since the Metroid was the X's natural predator on SR388, it would kill all of the X in her system. It worked. Immediately, Samus was sent to the Biologic Space Labs (BSL) station, to investigate a suspicious explosion. After a while there, she discovered that there were Metroids left, and that there was a Metroid breeding program that was going on inside of the Galactic Federation that she was unaware of. Also, an exact replica of her, called the SA-X tried to track her down. This was the X that attacked her on SR388, so it took her shape. She made it through, absorbing most of her known upgrades, and destroying the X race, SR388*, and the BSL station. She destroyed SR388 by setting the BSL station's coordinates to impact on SR388. She learned that the Galactic Federation also frequently uploaded the minds, yes the minds of great scientists and leaders to computers quite frequently. So Samus learned that her new ship's computer was actually the mind of Adam Malkovich, her former CO. That is the reason why it understood that she had to crash the BSL station to contain the X threat. That is the story so far........ *:I'm not sure on this, but I would like to think that that is what happened.
